If you don’t dwh/bgs at all, fang has one of the highest dps calcs. Rapier starts to surpass once the def is lowered enough. I think with 1 dwh spec fang is still better, but 2 rapier is better. For Graardor his defence is high enough that even after 2 DWH specs fang still wins by a margin. Same situation for scythe vs mace with full inq. I'd only use scy at nightmare if full inq but no mace or trying to pb. Fang is about 2% better than bludgeon if no inq but I'd switch over to hasta/bludgeon once you get a piece of inq. Rapier and blade are god awful at nightmare and yes fang beats both of them at verzik.

Lance is way better in my experience. Fang does not replace lance anywhere it was used before other than no hammer CM olm if you wanna get stupid sweaty with world scythe. What it can in theory replace is the Inq+mace swap since it dumpsters tekton/vanguards and is a solid choice at vasa. I say in theory because DWH gets inconsistent as fuck ...The great thing about a rapier though is that it's a liquid item. Once you are done grinding Slayer, you can sell it back and recoup your money +- small fluctuations in price.
